Kerry de Gale

I have a BA in Economic History and Social Geography from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg. My work experience includes information management, writing, design, and print production. I have worked extensively internationally. I am effective in managing the processes of publishing information and  holding a team together on a project in order to achieve outcomes. I love solving problems and seeking clarity, so being able to present information in a way that adds to the understanding and learning of the audience, particularly where it effects change, is significant to me. I’m an activist at heart and love cats.

Courses:
  • Complex data visualisation through DelftX
  • Improving Global Health: Focusing on Quality and Safety through HarvardX.

“My passion is clarifying information and making sure we add value to anything we work on – ‘what is your key message?’ is my most frequent question”

I have a diploma in graphic design from Damelin and have been a core member of the ITL team since 2007. I am dedicated, creative and love new technology. I am mostly involved in design, layout, managing client feedback and ensuring that deadlines are met.

I am a communications professional with extensive experience in the non-profit and international development sector. Following my journalism degree at Rhodes University I managed the communication for a number of NGOs, first as an employee and then as a partner in ITL Design. I am proficient in print and digital environments and enjoy engaging with content to develop animated infographics and data visualisations.

Courses:
  • Complex data visualisation through DelftX
  • Advanced Photoshop Editing through the Digital College of Photography
  • Intermediate Photography through the Digital College of Photography

“Passion is the secret ingredient that drives hard work and excellence. My passion is to make a difference in the world using my design and communication skills. Oh, and I also love fonts.”
